“The flesh store" project

当身体仅具有肉体的属性时,做为’物’的它们具有独特的美学。被物化的肉体,其超现实的形态却与现实紧密地链接,正如肉铺中的肉,反映的是个体与群体之间的社会关系,它们被禁锢着,承受着痛苦,甚至等待观众来施加暴力。而痛苦与脆弱在我眼中并非不堪,却恒常如新地具有纯粹又挑衅的美。

The human body has a unique aesthetic as an ‘object’ when it has only physical attributes. The surreal form of the materialized body closely linked to reality, just as the bodies in the ‘flesh store’, they reflect a social relationship between the individual and the group. They are imprisoned, suffering the violence from themselves and the audience. Pain and fragility are not unbearable in my eyes, on the contrary, they are powerful and provocative.

A slice of  human flesh 

“A slice of human flesh” is an anatomic slice or section of a man’s face. Its back depicts the facet of his brain where the face was cut through. The face is sealed in a plastic vacuum bag, which is the same bag used for quick-frozen meat in supermarkets. This is part of a long term project, which aims to discuss about the fast-food, the fast-food like culture, human’s hyperorexia and social stratification.

一片人脸,是一片人脸的大脑切片。正面是一个男子的脸,背面是切片的内部结构。整个“人肉“被密封在塑封袋中。因为塑封袋的挤压而变形,就好像是速冻的食物。这个作品可能会后期发展成长期的项目。关于速食、人的食欲、阶层的探讨。

"A piece of heartfelt“ is sealed by a plastic box from the supermarket, as if you can buy a "true heart" once you go to the supermarket. This work is questioning the credibility of “true heart” or the “heartfelt” ,and also exploring how are the internal organs and limbs of human beings transformed into a cartoon and flat figure.

“一片真心”被超市的塑料盒密封起来,好似去超市就能够买到“真心”一样。这个作品在质疑“真心”可信度,也同时在探讨,真实世界中血淋淋的人的内脏和肢体,是如何被卡通化,扁平化的。

As its name suggests, this work is homage to Rene Magritte. The shoes gradually transform to feet. It’s an attempt in surrealistic sculpture area.

致敬玛格丽特

如其名,这是一个致敬玛格丽特的雕塑作品。在这个雕塑中,鞋子渐渐地过渡成脚。是艺术家超现实主义雕塑的一次尝试。


Thorns

被禁锢的手

In the series of “Thorns”, each hand is covered with thorns, which means they can’t touch anything else. It is a representation of marginalized people and self-protection. The single hand in work 01 is trying to reach out the glass. It looks dangerous and creepy, but we can see how much it desires for a touch. The three hands gathered together in work 02, are like some hopeless people snuggling up to each other. Their looks like a group, but still being hostile to the outer world or even to each other.

该系列作品中的手,都长满了刺。而这些手背上的刺,意味着他们无法与他人接触。这个作品探讨的是边缘人格,与自我保护。01中的手,期盼地望向玻璃罩外面,就像被囚禁住了一般,看似危险,实际上却渴望他人的关怀。而02中的三只手,是同类型的边缘人群之间相互的依偎取暖,虽然已形成一个群体,但还是对外部的世界充满敌意,不愿意让人靠近。
